And it’s yet another draw, this time 0-0 with Middlesbrough when we really should have won it. Bolton do move into 18th place, above Wigan on goal difference, but that’s just about the only positive.
We didn’t make that many chances until near the end, Gary Speed’s free kick went just wide and had the East stand thinking we’d scored in the first half, and Kevin Davies put his shot just wide as well, just before half time.
Gavin McCann spent most of the match with a bandage round his head after clashing heads with someone in the first half (I won’t know who until I watch the highlights tonight).
As I said, we did make a few chances towards the end, in fact the last 20 minutes was one big scramble in the Boro half, apart from two breaks which both required Jussi to save, but we couldn’t capitalise and had to settle for another point.
We’ve got to start taking the position we’re in forward in wins instead of draws, and that’s the challenge for us.
We’re disappointed because we were doing the pressing for most of the time but it’s our sixth game in 17 days.
While Middlesbrough were on a bonding trip and preparing for eight days, we were traipsing around Europe and putting a good shift in at Bayern.
