It has been confirmed that Gary Speed will join Sheffield United on loan, with plans of a permanent deal.
He hasn’t played much this season after the arrival of Danny Guthrie, who Gary Megson is hoping to sign permanently, and needs to be playing first team football to be happy. Earlier this season Megson blocked his loan move to Sheffield, insisting that Speed still has a part to play at the Reebok, but a deal has finally been agreed and will be completed on January 1st.
Gary wants games and at his age it is important for him to play.
While we don’t want to lose someone of his undoubted talent and ability it is a good move for him and I am sure he’ll do well at Sheffield.
He’s a model professional and has been absolute 100 per cent since I came here and we wish him well.
