Draws for Bolton, Reading and Birmingham means the bottom of the Premier League stays exactly the same as this morning, although Fulham are now just 2 points away from Birmingham.
Bolton drew 1-1 with Tottenham at White Hart Lane, with Stelios’ opener cancelled out just 6 minutes later by Steed Malbranque. Wanderers owed a lot to Liverpool as they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at St Andrews, and Wigan held Reading 0-0 at the JJB Stadium. The twist, however, comes with Fulham - who also came from 2-0 down away from home, but managed to score an injury time winner to beat Man City 3-2 and move to within 3 points of safety.
And Middlesbrough’s defeat to Sunderland sees them drop to just three points above the Wanderers.

To be honest, Bolton didn’t deserve a point and were totally outplayed, but I’m sure there are no Wanderers fans complaining. Possibly their only attack of the game brought a goal, with Stelios poking home with his first touch of the ball just 19 seconds after the restart. Steed Malbranque equalised six minutes later, but despite all the pressure Bolton hung on to claim a valuable point.
Wanderers are now unbeaten in three games - the first time they have achieved this in the league for over two and a half months, and have claimed 7 points from the last available 9.
We’ve battled manfully although I accept we didn’t play very well.
But in the situation that we’re in, coming down to Tottenham and getting a point is a good result for us.
I’m sure there are people who looked at us two weeks ago and thought we’d gone but we haven’t.
