Wanderers sign Polish striker on loan - sound familiar?

Ebi Smolarek

Bolton have just signed a Polish striker on loan at the end of the transfer window, bringing back memories of Mr. Rasiak’s arrival at the club at the end of January. However Ebi Smolarek’s move to the Reebok may not be a better solution than Rasiak’s to our striker problems, as some reports are saying that Ricardo Vaz Té has been loaned to Racing Santander as part of the deal, which in my opinion is a bit pointless.

Smolarek actually has a worse goal record than our friend Grzegorz at club level, although he has scored 5 more goals in 3 fewer appearances for Poland.

Come on! Smolarek is much better than Rasiak. Rasiak is not treated seriuosly in Poland. He’s called “drewniak” which means “clog”. Smolarek is not a tipical striker; he’s very creative winger. Nevertheless he can play also in front line. He scored 25 goals in 79 matches for Borussia Dortmund (2004-2007), and 7 goals in 39 matches for Santander (usualy not playing whole 90 min). Best regards
